What We Do
Business compliance and success is not a one-off tick box approach to achieve compliance, it is a journey. We take a holistic approach to what we do, we advise support and assist your organisation to implement compliance techniques to ensure successful outcomes for the future of your business.
Set packages are available or get in touch for a tailored approach to suit your business needs.
Initial Consultation
We set up a convenient time with you to discuss what your needs are, this initial consultation is free of charge, its really about getting to know you, your organisation and what you need, we can provide you with options and advice as to what we think you may need initially to start or continue on your compliance journey.
New Registrations Package
Making the decision to become a NDIS registered provider is a big one, it takes a lot of courage and commitment. Becoming a registered provider not only means you can be recognised as meeting a standard set by the NDIS Commission, but it means you are willing to meet those standards, to hold yourself, your staff and your business accountable.
However, if you are doing it just to use the “I’m a registered NDIS provider” or “I love the NDIS” stamp, or purchase policies to get you through the audit and not live and breathe those policies then it might be time to reconsider why you are doing it.
If you have got this far and are still reading then let’s look at the first part of becoming a registered provider and how we can help. Below is a sample list of what we can help you with.
-
Initial meeting to discuss your business, understand your structure and your registration groups you are wishing to register for and level of understanding of the Practice Standards.
-
Assistance with registering your submission with the NDIS, which will generate your scope of audit.
-
Assist you to become audit ready and guide you in your understanding of the NDIS Practice Standards, this can be tailored to your business needs, some businesses need more help than others, everyone has different skills, you may decide you need just a gap analysis and some prep work or you may decide you need your staff or management to go though some workshops which aim to provide you with an understand of what you are getting into as a registered organisation.
-
Help you select and book your audit, we won’t leave you there, we will be available for you to ask any questions while your audit is taking place, audits can be scary and sometimes you need someone to debrief with. However, we expect that by this stage you will be a pro and wont need us for this part.
Once you have gone through these steps its up to the NDIS Commission to make a decision, it’s a waiting game. However, while you wait it is important to remember there is a reason you wanted to become registered, therefore in this time you should be maintaining your standards and even improving business operations for the future.
Getting ready for Audit
GAP ANALYSIS
If you are already a registered provider under the NDIS or HSQF schemes, then you will be required to go through maintenance and recertification audits at certain intervals. There is always that moment leading up to the audit where everyone is panicked getting ready.

Full review of the business including analysis of the business structure, processes and procedures, includes assessment and gap analysis.
-
Report on current findings and status of the business against standards
-
Recommendations on findings and improvement actions and/or best practice actions

Implementation of agreed action items and improvements
Full Virtual Compliance Officer Package
So, you got through your audit, and you have your registration certificate, so now what? For a lot of people it’s business as usual until that dreaded 18 months creeps up on you again and all of a sudden you have to do it all again, you start panicking, all your staff are panicking, you frantically start dusting off those policies you haven’t looked at since your last audit, you wack on a new updated version date, you make everyone catch up on paperwork they haven’t handed in for the last year and you wack out a few surveys for everyone to complete to tell you how well your organisation is going so you have something lovely to show the auditors when they arrive.
Well, that’s always an option, everyone has a choice, really depends on what you consider quality and what level of stress you and your team can handle. MGLA love the following quote:
“Quality means doing it right when no one is looking”.
Henry Ford
Everyone gets busy, there are several reasons why you should consider quality and compliance as an ongoing thing, it should be a breathing thing in your business not just something that sits in a folder on your shelf or desktop.
If you were committed enough to become compliant then there should be commitment to stay compliant, we understand life gets busy, and the first thing that goes is the behind the scenes work that gets put in the “to do later pile”. Its expensive to hire someone with the right skills to work on your governance and compliance, its usually a luxury for large organisations who can afford a dedicated person or even team. However, MGLA can offer a virtual compliance officer. This person will be responsible for maintaining your Governance arrangements and compliance across your company. We will do this externally via keeping track of where you are up to and what needs doing and when some of the ways we will do that is listed below:
-
Full review of the business including analysis of the business structure, processes, and procedures, includes assessment and gap analysis.
-
Report on current findings and status of the business against standards
-
Recommendations on findings and improvement actions and/or best practice actions
-
Implementation of agreed action items and improvements
-
Prepare and maintain an audit schedule which addresses all areas of your business that relates to the NDIS Practice Standards or HSQF standards.
-
Contact your designated person regularly and complete internal compliance audits, this process will consist of continuing to monitor your current processes, find any gaps in your service delivery or governance arrangements and make recommendations to improve areas of the business to ensure compliance. We can also assist with implementing these where appropriate.
Bookkeeping Package
Either numbers are your thing or its not, fortunately for MGLA it’s our thing. It is so important to be doing the right thing with your numbers unless you want to become friendly with the tax man. It is extremely important never to leave yourself open to risks and unfortunately as business owners it can sometimes happen even when we think we are doing the right thing.
Knowledge is key if you don’t have the knowledge, its best to outsource this to ensure you are never left in a situation where you are at risk of litigation or being investigated for fraud or having a disgruntled employee seeking compensation for something you didn’t mean to do.
